A porta cabin is a factory-built, steel-framed room that is transported to site and set down ready to use. Because it is built in our yard rather than on your site, it is quicker to get, cleaner to install and easy to move again when the project ends.

What a DFAB porta cabin is made of

A welded mild-steel base frame and corner posts that carry the cabin when it is lifted
Weatherproof wall and roof sheeting with sealed joints
Insulated wall panels and a finished interior
Concealed wiring, lights and sockets, with AC points where you need them

One structure, many uses

The same structure becomes an office, a site cabin, a security post, a bunk house or a toilet block depending on the layout and fit-out. Tell us how the cabin will be used and we will suggest the size, openings and insulation that suit it.

Delivery and installation

Cabins are delivered by truck and placed with a crane or hydra onto a levelled base or concrete blocks. Nothing needs to be built on site except the base and the incoming electrical and water connections.

What base does a porta cabin need?

A level, firm surface: usually a concrete pad or concrete blocks under the frame at the corners and mid-points. We share the base layout with the drawing so you can prepare it before delivery.
